My pattern says to SSK, what does SSK mean?
It is a decrease: Slip one stitch as if to knit, slip another stitch as if to knit, put the left needle into the fronts of both slipped stitches and knit them together through the back.
When you purchase yarn and don’t have a pattern, what size crochet hook would you use?
Most yarns will give a recommended millimeter needle size. Crochet hooks have a letter and millimeter size printed on them to choose the appropriate one. Also, a general rule is for Dk weight yarn use a size G. Worsted you can use an H and for a chunky weight yarn use a J.
Is it hard to learn to needlepoint?
No your basic stitch takes about a half hour to learn.
What is the best way to finish a garment?
We prefer to use the invisible seaming method. We offer classes in this way of finishing.
Is it necessary to make a swatch?
Yes gauge is very important in order for your garment to fit.
